Panoramic Mountain View Oasis: Our Seven-Night Airbnb Review in Powell Butte, Oregon
Spectacular Cascade Mountain views, a comfortable apartment, and peaceful evenings in the hot tub. Here's what we thought after seven nights.
Some vacation rentals look wonderful in the photographs but don't quite live up to expectations when you arrive.
Panoramic Mountain View Oasis in Powell Butte, Oregon, was the opposite.
The photographs were beautiful. The actual experience was even better.
We spent seven nights here in late May and early June 2025, staying in a private upstairs apartment overlooking the Cascade Mountains.
The apartment was comfortable, beautifully furnished, and equipped with everything we needed. The property was peaceful, the views were extraordinary, and the outdoor lounge and hot tub became our favorite places to spend an evening.
We gave the property five stars on Airbnb.
Here's why.
The Apartment: Comfortable, Private, and Well Equipped
The apartment sits above the owners' garage, with its own private entrance.
Access was straightforward. We received the gate code before arriving, had plenty of convenient parking beside the garage, and climbed one flight of stairs to the apartment.
Inside, the layout included an open living and dining area, a full kitchen, a separate bedroom, and an en-suite bathroom.
The furnishings were comfortable, the apartment was clean and welcoming, and everything felt thoughtfully arranged.
The king bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom had a double vanity, a good shower, plenty of hot water, and excellent towels.
Those might sound like small details, but they're exactly the things that can make or break a stay.
After seven nights, we had no complaints about the comfort of the apartment.
A Full Kitchen With Everything We Needed
The kitchen was far more substantial than the small kitchenette you sometimes find in vacation rentals.
It had a full-size refrigerator, stove and oven, dishwasher, farmhouse sink, cookware, dishes, and plenty of counter space.
We could easily have prepared full meals.
We didn't.
We were on vacation, and cooking wasn't on our agenda.
We used the kitchen for morning coffee, pastries, snacks, and occasional evening drinks.
Still, having a full kitchen was convenient, and travelers who prefer preparing their own meals would certainly appreciate it.
The View That Made This Property Special
The name Panoramic Mountain View Oasis isn't an exaggeration.
From the apartment, we had an expansive view of the Cascade Mountains stretching across the horizon.
During our late-spring stay, several peaks were still covered in snow, creating a beautiful contrast with the surrounding high-desert landscape.
The view was just as impressive from the outdoor areas.
And it wasn't something we admired once before getting on with our vacation.
We enjoyed it every day.
The property also had some entertaining little residents.
Young rabbits appeared regularly, and we watched pairs of quail wandering around almost every day.
There was something wonderfully peaceful about sitting quietly and watching the wildlife against that mountain backdrop.
In our original Airbnb review, we described the panoramic view as the best we'd experienced anywhere we'd stayed.
We still feel that way.
The Hot Tub and Outdoor Lounge
If the mountain views were the property's biggest attraction, the outdoor lounge was where we enjoyed them most.
The covered patio featured a large hot tub, comfortable wicker furniture, a stone fireplace, and a patio heater.
It was an inviting space, thoughtfully furnished and sheltered from the weather.
Access required going downstairs, walking outside, and around the garage to the fenced patio area.
We spent several evenings in the hot tub watching the sunset over the mountains.
Other times, we relaxed in the seating area with a glass of local Oregon wine.
We never used the fireplace, but it was a beautiful feature of the outdoor space.
One thing we particularly enjoyed was leaving our phones upstairs while we relaxed.
We weren't checking messages or scrolling through photographs.
We were simply enjoying the surroundings.
And that's something we don't always do enough of.
Privacy With the Owners Living on the Property
The apartment is located above the owners' garage, so it's reasonable to wonder how much privacy guests actually have.
In our experience, plenty.
The owners lived on the property, but we never interacted with them in person during our seven-night stay.
We had everything we needed, and there was no reason to contact them.
The guest patio was separated from the owners' outdoor area, and we never encountered anyone else using the hot tub.
The Airbnb listing describes the outdoor amenities as shared, so future guests should confirm the arrangements if exclusive use is important to them.
For us, the arrangement worked beautifully.
We had the convenience of staying on a well-maintained property without feeling as though we were sharing someone's personal living space.
Seven Nights for $1,114.50
Our total Airbnb reservation cost $1,114.50 for seven nights, including taxes and fees, after the weekly-stay discount.
That worked out to approximately $159.21 per night, all-in, during our May and June 2025 stay.
Of course, Airbnb prices vary by travel dates, demand, and booking conditions, so current rates may be different.
For that price, we had a comfortable one-bedroom apartment, a fully equipped kitchen, convenient parking, exceptional mountain views, and access to a beautiful outdoor lounge and hot tub.
We felt the property represented excellent value.
It wasn't simply somewhere to sleep.
It was somewhere we genuinely enjoyed spending time.
A Few Things to Know Before Booking
There are a handful of practical details worth considering.
First, the apartment is upstairs. Guests must climb a flight of stairs to reach it, which could be an obstacle for anyone with mobility limitations.
Second, the hot tub and outdoor lounge are not directly connected to the apartment. Reaching them requires going back downstairs and walking around the garage.
Third, although the listing accommodates up to four guests, there is one conventional king bed. The additional sleeping arrangement is an air mattress in the living area.
We think the apartment is particularly well suited to a couple.
Finally, the outdoor amenities are described as shared in the Airbnb listing. We enjoyed considerable privacy during our stay, but future guests should verify the current arrangements rather than assuming they'll have exclusive use.
None of these details negatively affected our experience.
They're simply things we'd want to know before booking.
Would We Stay Here Again?
Absolutely.
If we were returning to the area, Panoramic Mountain View Oasis would be one of the first properties we'd check for availability.
The apartment was comfortable, the property was beautifully maintained, and the views were unforgettable.
But what stands out most is how relaxed we felt there.
We enjoyed the hot tub, watched the wildlife, appreciated the privacy, and looked forward to returning to the apartment each evening.
We stayed seven nights and never felt disappointed with our choice.
That's a pretty strong endorsement.
Our Final Recommendation
🟢 GO FOR IT: Couples looking for a peaceful, comfortable vacation rental with exceptional mountain views, a full kitchen, and a wonderful outdoor hot tub and lounge.
🟡 THINK IT THROUGH: Families or groups of four who would need the additional air mattress, or guests who expect the outdoor amenities to be directly accessible from the apartment or exclusively theirs.
🔴 NOT THE RIGHT FIT: Travelers who cannot comfortably manage a flight of stairs.
We gave Panoramic Mountain View Oasis five stars on Airbnb, and we'd happily recommend it to someone looking for this type of accommodation.
At approximately $159 per night during our stay, it delivered comfort, privacy, beautiful surroundings, and some of the most relaxing evenings we've enjoyed at a vacation rental.
