🟢 Captain Zack's Seafood
Quick Take
Captain Zack's set the tone for the rest of our week in Chincoteague. Fresh local oysters, excellent seafood, generous portions, and friendly service made this one of our favorite lunches of the trip. We'd happily return.
Why We Recommend It
Sometimes you know within a few bites that you've picked the right restaurant.
That was Captain Zack's.
We stopped in for lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and enjoyed fresh raw oysters, flavorful fish tacos, crispy fish and chips, and a Bloody Mary that was practically an appetizer on its own. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and exactly what we hoped to find on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
The service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed, allowing us to relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch.
At that point in our trip, Captain Zack's became our favorite meal in Chincoteague. Steamers eventually edged it out on our final evening, but Captain Zack's remained one of the highlights of the week and an easy recommendation for anyone visiting the island.

Captain Zack's reminded us why traveling to the coast is about more than seeing the ocean.
