Charlotte NASCAR Race Weekend

Three nights. Three races. And a few unexpected turns.

What started as a weekend getaway to enjoy NASCAR racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway turned into four days of racing, entertainment, good food, unexpected schedule changes, and a few lessons learned along the way.

We drove from southeast Georgia to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the October 2026 NASCAR race weekend. We'd planned our tickets, accommodations, and a few activities in advance, but Mother Nature had other ideas. Rain forced us to rearrange our schedule, make some last-minute decisions, and embrace a little flexibility.

Along the way, we enjoyed premium seating at the speedway, explored the NASCAR Hall of Fame, tried local restaurants, and put 855 miles on our Tesla Model X.

Some things exceeded our expectations. Others fell short. And a few of our favorite moments weren't on the itinerary at all.

Below you'll find our complete weekend story, along with individual articles covering the experiences, costs, practical advice, and lessons we brought home.
